The Massachusetts Association of School Business Officials (MASBO) has presented the 2025 John F. Conway Distinguished Service Award to Cortney Keegan, Assistant Superintendent for Business and Operations in the Douglas Public Schools.
The award recognizes the accomplishments of a MASBO member who has enhanced the effectiveness of their school district in fulfilling its educational mission. This award is sponsored this year by KenMark / Visual Edge IT. It includes a $1,500 contribution to the district in honor of the recipient.
Dr. Paul Vieira, Superintendent of Douglas Public Schools, nominated Ms. Keegan for the award, describing her as an innovative problem-solver. Dr. Vieira said Ms. Keegan “always seeks to understand and learn before making a decision or reacting to an issue, researching Massachusetts General Laws and Municipal Finance Laws, and looking at things from all angles. Her attention to detail is second to none.”
Dr. Vieira added, “Cortney works daily to bring our district’s vision to life. She does an amazing job watching every taxpayer penny and pushes back on all of us to be financially responsible. But when asked for a social-emotional learning program, textbooks for students, new technology, professional development to help students and staff, she makes things happen so that students and teachers have what they need to succeed.”
